Instead of spending time in a traditional gym, GoodGym does three things:
- Group runs to do physical tasks for community organisations
- Social runs to isolated older people
- Doing odd-jobs for people who struggle to do them alone
GoodGym matches runners who want to get fit by doing good with people and tasks that could benefit from their energy.
During the 2016 Art of the Possible festival, 26 GoodGym runners in Chelmsford and Colchester used their runs to help clean All Saints Church in Writtle, tidy and fill shelves at Colchester Foodbank and pick litter along the banks of the River Colne.
